History

The Battledore Cup is a long standing tradition of the SBL - this tournament has been running since the start of the league 1972.  Battledore comes from the original name for Badminton - Battledore and Shuttlecock. 

Format

The format of this tournament does change occasionally to encourage more players to participant.   This year is an attempt to copy the National Badminton League (NBL) as follows:

• 1 mens singles rubber
• 1 ladies doubles rubber
• 1 mens doubles rubber
• 2 mixed rubbers

Prizes/trophies

There will be some small prizes awarded to the winners and runners up.

Entry

To enter the tournament, please email enquiries@solihullbadmintonleague.co.uk with your team name, player list (minimum 2 men, 2 ladies).

There will be an entry fee as detailed on the right payable in advance (preferred) or on the day before any play takes place.
